A Scotsman living in Japan
As part of my effort to make more of my meals for frugal living, rather than eating out I decided to buy a juicer. Not that I just have a fresh fruit and vegetable drink as a meal though. It wasn't cheap at over 30,000 yen but I feel happy with my purchase of a Magimix Le Duo juicer.
At the moment I am primarily juicing in the morning as I now start the day with an alkaline acid diet breakfast which I have always eaten at home anyway. So maybe buying a juicer was not a saving money gesture after all! That said, since I bought my fruit and vegetable juicer, I have saved money by not buying packaged fruit juices from the supermarket.
I have written a more detailed Magimix Le Duo review on my acid diet blog. In my review I discuss the health benefits from increasing fruit and vegetable consumption as well as the operation and use of the Magimix le duo fruit and vegetable juicer itself.
What I love about having a juicer is that I am definitely getting more fruit and vegetable goodness each day which is having a noticeable effect on how I feel. Buying fresh fruit and vegetables obviously costs money. Now though I am making savings by not buying "snack" type food and I am also limiting alcohol consumption which saves money too.
Using my Magimix juicer every morning to prepare my alkaline acid diet breakfast food is very quick. It helps me save money by not visiting buying acid foods on the way to work. So on one hand, it was a fairly substantial outlay to buy my Magimix Le Duo. But on the other, it is perhaps helping with my financial development as I now eat a healthy, reasonably priced breakfast.
